Editing plays a crucial role in photography, especially when working with bold and artistic subjects like Medusa Venom, a talented drag queen from Luxembourg. Our shoot was all about drama, color, and expression, and my goal during the editing process was to bring out the vibrancy and mood of the session while maintaining the authenticity of the moment.
Step 1: Selecting the Best Shots
After the shoot, I went through hundreds of images, carefully picking the ones that best captured Medusa’s energy, movement, and personality. The strongest shots showcased her powerful poses, extravagant makeup, and stunning outfits.

Step 2: Color Grading & Enhancing Details
Since Medusa’s look was bold and theatrical, I focused on enhancing the richness of the colors. I adjusted the saturation and contrast to make sure the makeup and outfits popped while ensuring the skin tones remained natural. The intricate details in her costumes and accessories were also sharpened to highlight their texture and design.
Step 3: Retouching with Precision
For portraits, I always aim for a polished yet realistic finish. I used light retouching techniques to smooth out minor imperfections while preserving the texture of the skin. The goal was to enhance rather than alter, making sure Medusa’s stunning makeup work remained the star of the image.
Step 4: Final Adjustments & Mood Enhancement
Since the shoot had a high-fashion, dramatic feel, I added some subtle effects to enhance the mood. Playing with lighting adjustments, soft shadows, and highlights gave the images a professional editorial look.
The Final Result
The final images were a perfect blend of glamour, drama, and storytelling—reflecting the powerful presence of Medusa Venom. This project was a great example of how editing is not about changing an image but about refining and amplifying the elements that make it special.
Whether it’s a bold, artistic shoot or a natural portrait session, editing is an essential step in bringing the vision to life.
